Committed to reducing our environmental impact
We are committed to reducing our environmental impact in all aspects of our business. We understand it is our responsibility to make changes today to ensure a better environmental outlook for future generations. We believe that with each small change or measure we make, together we can make a difference.
"Plastic is one of the most significant environmental issues the world is facing today"
The Plastic Problem
Since the beginning of plastic production, it is estimated that at least 8.3 billion tons of plastic have been produced globally. Of this, at least 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste has been created and almost 80% have been put to landfill or into the natural environment, such as the oceans.
Drowning in Plastic
Australians now produce about 50 million tons of plastic waste each year, averaging over 2 tons per person.
It can take anything between 20 – 100 years for a plastic bag to break up, up to 1,000 for an HDPE bottle (like our packaging), and up to 1,000 for a pet bottle. These products will never properly biodegrade, only break up or degrade into smaller pieces but never properly disappear. They break up into polymers, toxic chemicals and microplastics that linger in our environment.
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

SUSTAINABILITY
Our Impact
We are committed to wellness for people & the planet
Happily Second Hand!
In 2020, one of our major goals was to introduce 100% recycled packaging across our entire product range. We are proud that our leading natural health brand, Vital All-in-One, was one of the first supplements to be sold in packaging made from 100% recycled plastic. This was extended across the rest of the Vital range of products, as well as across all Martin & Pleasance owned brands where possible.
Powered by Renewables
Martin & Pleasance HQ in Melbourne, Australia has installed solar panels on its roof to contribute to renewable energy production, and work towards the vision of being carbon neutral business.
As a company, we will continue to take an active role in reducing our environmental footprint & make the protection of our climate & our environment a priority in everything we do as a business.
Plant Based Ingredients
We use only plant based ingredients in all of our product formulations, and we use certified organic ingredients where possible. Not only does research suggest this is better for human health, but it also has a smaller enviromental footprint when compared to livestock agriculture. We also source our ingredients from farmers actively promoting sustainable farming practices, to restore biodiveristy.
